  1. Darren Jamar Bullock was involved in a tragic incident on February 16, 2008, in Accokeek, Maryland, where his vehicle struck a crowd of spectators watching an illegal street race, resulting in eight fatalities and multiple injuries. Initially, Bullock claimed he was not racing and was driving within the speed limit with his headlights on. However, surveillance footage and witness accounts later indicated that Bullock and another driver, Tavon Taylor, were engaged in a race with their headlights off, traveling at speeds up to 110 mph. Both were subsequently indicted on eight counts of vehicular manslaughter, reckless driving, and engaging in a speed contest. In January 2010, Bullock pleaded guilty to all eight counts of vehicular manslaughter. In March 2010, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison, with all but 15 years suspended. As of the latest available information, Bullock was serving his sentence in a Maryland correctional facility. Regarding his co-defendant, Tavon Taylor, after a mistrial in his initial case, he entered an Alford plea in January 2012 to two counts of manslaughter. He received a sentence of five years’ probation and a $1,000 fine, avoiding jail time. Please note that this information is based on reports up to 2015, and there may have been developments since then that are not reflected here.
